Automated Pathology Result Tracking
Every morning, WebRun opens EndoManager, matches specimens sent to pathology against results received, flags any biopsy still outstanding past its expected turnaround, emails the responsible provider in Outlook, and posts a Slack summary of pending results so nothing falls through the cracks.
How do I automatically track outstanding biopsy pathology results?
WebRun tracks your pathology every morning. It matches specimens sent from EndoManager against results received, flags any biopsy outstanding past its expected turnaround, emails each provider their pending cases in Outlook, and posts a Slack summary. Once results return, it drafts the patient result letter for the provider to review, so no biopsy is lost and no result is sent unapproved.
- No biopsy result is lost because every specimen is reconciled daily
- Providers see their overdue results each morning without hunting for them
- Patient result letters are drafted for sign-off, keeping a clinician on every result
Built for endoscopy centers · gastroenterologists · GI clinical staff · ambulatory surgery centers

1
EndoManager - match specimens sent to results received
WebRun opens EndoManager to match specimens to results. - Open EndoManager and list procedures where specimens were sent to pathology
- Match each specimen against the pathology result received back on the case
- Flag any specimen with no result past its expected turnaround, capturing the case, provider, and days outstanding
Done when Every sent specimen is matched to a result or flagged as outstanding with days pending.
-
2
Outlook - alert the provider on overdue results
WebRun drafts the provider alert in Outlook. - Draft an internal Outlook email to each provider listing their outstanding pathology results and days pending
- Keep it to the provider's own cases and mark anything well past turnaround as urgent
- For results already returned, draft the patient result letter but leave it unsent for the provider to review and approve
Done when Providers have an outstanding-results email, and any patient letters are drafted for review.
-
3
Slack - summarize pending pathology
WebRun posts the pending-pathology summary to Slack. - Post a Slack summary to the clinical operations channel with the total count of pending pathology results
- List the oldest outstanding specimens so staff can call the lab if needed
- Keep patient identifiers out of Slack and refer to cases by accession or initials only
Done when The team has a Slack summary of pending results and the oldest outstanding specimens.

Every action is checked against this policy before it runs.
Questions, answered
Will it send pathology results to patients on its own?
No. WebRun drafts each patient result letter and leaves it unsent for the ordering provider to review and approve. No result reaches a patient without a clinician signing off first.
How does it know a result is overdue?
It compares the date a specimen was sent to pathology against your expected turnaround. Any specimen with no result on the case past that window is flagged, and days pending is counted from the send date.
Is patient information exposed in Slack?
No. The Slack summary refers to cases by accession number or initials and keeps counts and ages only. Provider-specific detail goes in the internal Outlook email, and patient letters stay in the provider's review queue.
