Glooko Automated Hypoglycemia Event Alerts

Every hour, WebRun opens Glooko to look for new severe hypoglycemia events or repeated lows in the same patient, pages the on-call nurse immediately through Twilio with the patient's glucose reading and time, and drafts a check-in email in Gmail for the clinician to review and send.

In short

How can I automatically catch and follow up on severe hypoglycemia events?

Every hour, WebRun checks Glooko for new severe or repeated low glucose events and immediately pages the on-call nurse through Twilio with the patient's reading and time. It also drafts a check-in email in Gmail for the clinician to review, so urgent lows get a same-hour internal alert while any patient contact still goes through a human first.

  • Severe or repeated lows get an internal page within the hour they happen
  • On-call nurses see the reading and pattern before deciding on contact
  • No patient email sends without clinician review

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens my.glooko.com/users/sign_in in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

    • Open Glooko and check for any new glucose reading below the clinic's severe-low threshold
    • Check whether the same patient has had 2 or more lows in the past 24 hours
    • Capture the reading, time, and any CGM trend arrow at the time of the event

Done when Every new severe or repeated hypoglycemia event is captured with its reading and time.

    • Page the on-call nurse's number with the patient name, reading, and time of the event
    • Mark repeated-low patients as higher priority in the page
    • This page is an internal staff alert only, sent automatically. It never contacts the patient

Done when The on-call nurse has been paged for every new severe or repeated low.

  4. 3
Gmail - draft a patient check-in for clinician review
    gmail.com
WebRun in Gmail: draft a patient check-in for clinician review
WebRun opens Gmail to draft a patient check-in for clinician review.
    • Draft a check-in email to the patient asking about symptoms and recent food or activity
    • Include the clinic's after-hours number for anything urgent
    • Leave the email as a draft for the clinician to review and send. Nothing goes out automatically

Done when A reviewed check-in draft exists for every patient with a new hypoglycemia event.

Questions, answered

Does it contact the patient directly during a low glucose event?

No. WebRun pages your on-call nurse internally through Twilio so a clinician can decide on real-time contact. Any email to the patient is only a drafted check-in held for clinician review, never sent automatically.

How does it decide what counts as severe or repeated?

It uses your clinic's own severe-low glucose threshold and flags anyone with 2 or more lows in a 24 hour window as repeated, so the on-call nurse sees the pattern, not just a single reading.

Why does it run every hour instead of once a day?

Hypoglycemia is time sensitive. Checking every hour means a severe or repeated low gets an internal page the same hour it happens, not the next morning.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
