Automated Dental Lab Delivery Route Planning

Every morning, WebRun opens Evident and collects all cases scheduled for delivery today, groups them by delivery zone using the driver route plan in Google Sheets, and posts a confirmed route sheet to Slack so drivers and dispatch know exactly which cases go to which practice and in what order before anyone leaves the lab.

In short

How do I automatically plan and confirm dental lab delivery routes each morning?

Every morning before drivers leave, WebRun reads today's outbound cases from Evident, groups them by delivery zone using Google Sheets, and posts a sequenced route sheet to Slack. Urgent cases are flagged at the top of each zone so drivers can prioritize patient-appointment deliveries and every case reaches the right practice on time.

  • Drivers start every day with a confirmed, sequenced route, not a guessed one
  • Urgent cases are flagged at the top of the route so patient appointments are never missed
  • Route history is logged in Google Sheets for tracking and zone optimization

Questions, answered

What if a case is added to the schedule after the route sheet is posted?

The dispatch manager can trigger a manual re-run at any time to regenerate the route sheet with the latest cases from Evident before drivers depart.

How does it know which zone each practice belongs to?

It reads the zone assignments from the delivery zone master sheet in Google Sheets. Update the sheet to add a new practice or reassign a zone and the next run picks it up.

Does it notify dentist offices about delivery times?

No. The route sheet is an internal dispatch tool only. Any communication with a dental practice about delivery timing is left for your dispatch team to send.
