In short

How do I automatically identify and re-engage lapsed church donors?

Every Monday, WebRun opens Tithe.ly, identifies donors who gave consistently but stopped giving 60 or more days ago, and logs them in a Google Sheets tracker. It drafts a warm, pastoral re-engagement message for each lapsed donor for the giving team to review and send, keeping outreach relational and human-approved.

  • Lapsed donors are identified and tracked every week without manual giving report reviews
  • Every re-engagement message is pastoral and human-reviewed before it reaches a donor
  • Donors lapsed over 180 days are escalated for a personal conversation rather than a form email

Built for church stewardship pastors · giving team coordinators · church finance staff · development directors

    • Do not include giving amounts or financial pressure in the message
    • Leave every draft in Gmail for the giving team to review before sending. Never send automatically.
    • For donors flagged for a pastoral call, draft an internal briefing note for the pastor instead

Done when A thoughtful draft is queued in Gmail for each lapsed donor requiring outreach.

Questions, answered

Will it contact lapsed donors without approval?

No. Every re-engagement message is drafted and left in Gmail for the giving team to review and personalize before sending. Pastoral outreach always has a human in the loop.

How does it avoid messaging donors who have intentionally left the church?

The giving team reviews every draft before it goes out. WebRun also respects a 90-day outreach cooldown so the same donor is never messaged more than once per quarter, and the team can remove anyone from the list.

What about donors who have simply switched to cash or check giving?

WebRun flags lapsed online givers for the team to review. The giving team can cross-check in-person records and remove any donors who are still giving through other methods before approving the drafts.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
