In short

How do I automatically send backorder status updates to furniture customers?

Every Monday, WebRun opens STORIS, finds every open backorder with a customer on record, and drafts a plain-language status email in Gmail for each one, including the item name and revised ETA. Staff receive a Slack summary of all drafts to review and approve before the week starts, so no customer waits in the dark.

  • Every backordered customer receives a weekly status update without staff having to write each one
  • Orders past their original promise date are flagged as high priority
  • No backorder update goes to a customer without a staff review

Questions, answered

Will it email customers about backorders without staff approval?

No. WebRun saves every backorder update as a Gmail draft and flags them in Slack. A staff member reviews and sends each message, so no customer communication goes out automatically.

What if the same customer has multiple backordered items?

WebRun drafts a separate email for each backordered line so each item's ETA is clearly communicated. Staff can choose to combine them into one email before sending.

Will it keep running even if some backorders have no ETA yet?

Yes. For items without a confirmed ETA, the draft will note that the revised date is pending and invite the customer to contact their sales associate for the latest information.

Put this on autopilot.
