Flag unusual transactions and fund anomalies in your Aplos ledger

Every morning, WebRun opens Aplos and scans the general ledger for anomalies such as duplicate transactions, charges to the wrong fund, amounts that deviate significantly from historical averages, and entries missing required account codes. Flagged items are logged in a Google Sheet and a concise alert is sent to your finance team via Telegram so exceptions are reviewed before they compound.

In short

How do I automatically detect and flag unusual transactions in my Aplos fund accounting ledger?

WebRun scans your Aplos general ledger every morning for duplicates, misposted fund charges, amounts above the 90-day average, and entries missing required codes. Flagged exceptions are logged in a Google Sheet and a Telegram alert reaches your finance team with the top items so errors are caught and corrected before month-end, not after.

  • Duplicate and misposted transactions caught daily instead of at month-end audit
  • Restricted fund violations flagged before they become audit findings
  • Finance team receives a prioritized exception list every morning without manual GL review

Questions, answered

Does it correct or reverse any flagged transactions automatically?

No. WebRun only identifies and flags exceptions. All corrections, reversals, and re-postings are made by your finance team after reviewing the exception list in the Google Sheet.

How does it determine what counts as an outlier amount?

It compares each transaction amount to the 90-day running average for that fund and flags any amount more than two standard deviations above the average. You can adjust the sensitivity threshold during setup.

Can it catch fund-restriction violations, such as restricted funds used for operating expenses?

Yes. It checks whether the payee and account code combination match the permitted use of each restricted fund and flags any transaction that appears to violate the fund's restriction.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
