Carta Automated Equity Data Entry From Email

Every morning, WebRun scans your Gmail for equity-related emails (grant notices, term sheet summaries, conversion confirmations), extracts the key data fields, prepares a structured Carta entry draft, and logs the raw email data to a Google Sheet so your equity manager has everything ready to post with minimal manual work.

In short

How can I automatically extract equity data from emails and prepare Carta entries?

Every morning, WebRun scans Gmail for equity action emails such as grant notices and conversion confirmations, extracts the key fields, logs them to a Google Sheet for audit, and opens the relevant Carta entry screen with those fields pre-populated. Your equity manager reviews and submits each draft. No cap table entry is posted without human sign-off.

  • Equity action emails are processed and Carta screens pre-filled within hours of arrival
  • A Google Sheet audit log tracks every extracted email with processing status
  • Equity managers spend minutes reviewing rather than hours transcribing from email

Questions, answered

Will it post equity entries to Carta without my equity manager reviewing them?

No. WebRun pre-populates the Carta entry screens and leaves them in draft for your equity manager to verify and submit. No entry is posted to the live cap table without a human completing the submission.

How does it identify equity action emails in Gmail?

You configure a Gmail label or set of keywords during setup (e.g. 'grant notice', 'term sheet', 'equity confirmation'). Only emails matching those criteria are processed. All others are ignored.

What if the email is missing a required field for the Carta entry?

WebRun logs the incomplete extraction in the Google Sheet with a 'needs review' flag and leaves the Carta entry open with the fields it was able to extract. Your equity manager completes the missing fields before submitting.
